To whom it may concern,
I am writing to give wholehearted support and thanks for the services provided by Dr. Sunita Shaunak and her colleagues at the dental clinic located at 387, Cavendish Road, Coorparoo QLD 4151.
With a history of horror stories from visits to dentists in Brisbane and around the globe, my commitment to dental health before meeting Dr. Shaunak was to assiduously avoid regular dental visits for decades and present for treatment only when acute pain forced me to seek attention.
At such times, my primary interest in services provided by dental clinics was whether they could stop the pain, were situated nearby, and had any appointments available at times that suited my schedule.
As I had never before connected the idea of ‘customer care’ to ‘dental treatment’, I never thought to check whether a dentist offered personalised care and service.
That is, I never thought of such things until meeting Dr. Shaunak who, miraculously, was a local dentist I found available to treat a sore tooth initially but who has since single-handedly revolutionized my idea of dental care and saved my gums and teeth from certain ruin.
Ever since I first presented to Dr. Shaunak as an ashen-faced, fear-filled patient suffering from extensive dental decay, gum disease and near hysteria, I have enjoyed the most excellent and compassionate dental care imaginable.
When I first entered her clinic, the decor around the waiting room suggested I was in a place with a commitment to mental and physical health and she has certainly reinforced that signal in every way.
She is always an exemplar of professional courtesy and efficiency who demands the highest standards of care from herself and her staff.
She is also an inspirational educator who provides detailed information pertaining to her patient’s interests in dental care and hygiene while offering continual encouragement and affirmation of good health.
Since Dr. Shaunak is an increasingly rare breed of professional who actually cares for her patients’ health, she gives much more than ‘mouth service’ to the notion of care and monitors her patients’ development closely.
While this statement might suggest a degree of indulgence, I should also state that such care can be both kind and confronting as I know I first flinched when she looked at me directly and warned me that I could lose all my teeth if I continued to neglect my dental hygiene.
However, her honest engagement with her clients respects them as people with complex and changing needs and is a sure sign of her commitment to the development of habits that will undoubtedly bring excellent results for individuals like me and all of our communities.
I therefore continue to wish her all the very best and thank whatever stroke of luck led me to walk through her door.

I have been attending the Coorparoo Dental Clinic for approximately 25 years.
For someone who is totally paranoid about Dentists I make the 80 minute round trip every 6 months. I think this indicates my confidence in and level of comfort with the Practice, Sunita and her staff.
Sunita is very professional, has an easy manner, is tolerant and possesses a calm demeanor. All procedures are explained in detail.
The pros and cons, any discomfort levels expected, follow up processes required and fees are fully outlined at the outset.
Sunita is well respected within the Dentistry Profession and when she has had to refer me to a Specialist, she has been able to match the Professional not only to meet the procedure required but also one who can nurse me through the process (remember I’m paranoid about Dentists)
Sunita’s Professionalism is further reflected in that she was nominated to and attended the Government’s 2020 Conference.
One small thing but important is that the Practice’s waiting/reception area is comfortable and relaxing.
Not the cold clinical atmosphere one usually experiences in most other Dental Surgeries.
I certainly don’t look forward to my visits but I know I must go and will be well looked after.
Impossible not to recommend Sunita to any prospective Patient.

I have been working with Dr. Shaunak, for approximately 3 years and I have never worked with a dentist with such professionalism, caring nature, honesty and such passion for dentistry that Dr Shaunak has.

I first saw Dr. Shaunak a few years ago. Due to having some unpleasant previous experiences with dentists I had developed an anxiety disorder when even thinking about having to go see a dentist, let alone getting any work done.
I would almost avoid going if at all possible but a major filling had come away and I could not hide any more.
